ESIC Model Hospital in Bibvewadi has undergone a significant transformation since its inception, evolving from a 60-bed ESIS facility into a fully operational 120-bed secondary care centre in Pune.

• May 2017: Facility transitioned from ESIS to ESIC management on a 10-acre campus in Bibvewadi, Pune. Renovation work commenced under UPRNN.
• November 2017: OPD services launched despite ongoing renovations, ensuring essential medical care for the community.
• July 2020: Designated as a COVID Care Centre in response to the pandemic.
• September 2020: Re-designated as a 50-bed Dedicated COVID Hospital with expanded emergency and ambulance services.
• December 2020: Resumed 50-bed IPD services for non-COVID patients.
• February 2021: Expanded to full 92-bed capacity. Emergency and Major OT Complexes became operational.
• April 2021: Converted to 92-bed Dedicated COVID Hospital during the second wave, with ICU and ventilator services added through a Public-Private Partnership model. Ultrasonography facility introduced.
• July 2021: Fully re-designated as a non-COVID facility. Services restored to normalcy by August 2021.
• September 2021: Achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification.
• October 2021: Ophthalmology Operation Theatre launched.
• January 2022: PSA Oxygen Plant installed.
