About Hospital

Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute in Chandiheta, Bhubaneswar is a 750-bed super-speciality cancer hospital established to deliver world-class oncology care with compassion and affordability.

It is part of the Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation network, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to inclusive cancer treatment, research, prevention and care across India. The hospital was inaugurated on 15 February 2024 by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, with generous support from Subroto Bagchi and Susmita Bagchi and in collaboration with Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bengaluru.

The institute spans a 22-acre campus equipped with modern infrastructure designed for all major aspects of cancer care including diagnostics, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and supportive care. It has 80 consultation rooms and 50 general wards that can accommodate around 300 in-patients daily, and a 60-bed daycare chemotherapy ward for flexible treatment options.

The hospital maintains 24-hour pharmacy services and 10 advanced operation theatres capable of performing about 200-300 surgeries per month. Bagchi Sri Shankara aims to provide accessible cancer treatment to patients from Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and eastern India, offering evidence-based care under expert medical teams using cutting-edge technology.
