Can I lead a normal life after a kidney transplant?

A successful kidney transplant may allow a patient to live longer and to live the kind of life he/she was living before the surgery. For many patients, there are fewer limits on what he/she can eat and drink, though they should follow a heart-healthy diet and maintain a healthy weight to help the new kidney last.
