Dear Mr. Verma,

Persistent retinal issues requiring multiple surgeries and prolonged silicone oil placement indicate a complex retinal condition. A comprehensive evaluation by a specialized retinal surgeon is essential to determine the appropriate course of action.

Possible Treatment Plan:

  1. Detailed Retinal Assessment: A thorough examination, possibly including advanced imaging techniques, to assess the current status of your retina.

  2. Surgical Intervention: Depending on the findings, further surgery may be necessary to address retinal detachment or other complications.

  3. Postoperative Care: Close monitoring and adherence to postoperative instructions to promote optimal healing and visual recovery.

While the following hospitals are renowned for their specialized eye care services, it's advisable to confirm their empanelment status under the Ayushman Bharat scheme:

  • Shreya Eye Centre: Offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services in all subspecialties of ophthalmology.

  • Eye Mantra: Established in 2013, known for affordable and comprehensive eye care.

  • EyeQ: A chain of super-speciality eye hospitals providing advanced eye care treatments.

  • Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital: Renowned for comprehensive ophthalmic services.

  • Dr. Kapur's The Healing Touch Eye & Maternity Centre Offers specialized eye treatments.

Next Steps:

  1. Consultation: Schedule an appointment with a retinal specialist at one of the empanelled hospitals to discuss your condition and potential treatment options.

  2. Insurance Verification: Ensure that the chosen hospital accepts the Ayushman Bharat card for the specific treatments you require.

  3. Documentation: Carry all relevant medical records, including previous surgery details and imaging reports, to your consultation.

Precautions to Prevent Further Retinal Damage:

  1. Follow Postoperative Instructions: Strictly adhere to your doctor’s advice regarding head positioning, medications, and follow-up visits.
  2. Avoid Strenuous Activities: Avoid heavy lifting, bending, or sudden movements that may increase intraocular pressure.
  3. Protect Your Eyes: Wear protective eyewear to prevent accidental trauma, especially in crowded areas or while engaging in physical activities.
  4. Control Underlying Conditions:
    • Keep blood sugar levels in check if you have diabetes, as high glucose can worsen retinal issues.
    • Maintain optimal blood pressure to avoid retinal bleeding or further detachment.
  5. Monitor Vision Changes: Immediately report any sudden loss of vision, increased floaters, flashes of light, or worsening blurriness to your doctor.
  6. Maintain a Healthy Diet:
    • Eat foods rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, and E (like green leafy vegetables, fish, and nuts) to support retinal health.
  7. Avoid Smoking & Alcohol: These can contribute to retinal degeneration and worsen existing conditions.
  8. Limit Screen Time & Strain: Reduce prolonged screen exposure and take breaks to prevent eye fatigue.
  9. Use Prescribed Eye Drops: If your doctor has recommended lubricating or anti-inflammatory eye drops, use them regularly.
  10. Sleep Positioning: If instructed, maintain a specific head position (e.g., face-down) to help the retina heal properly.

Timely and specialized care is crucial for retinal conditions. Seeking treatment at a reputable facility will provide you with the best chances for a favourable outcome.

Wishing you a successful treatment and a swift recovery.
