Dear Mr. Bhupal Reddy Ji,
We are sorry to hear about your health condition.
Since you are 83 years old, have been diagnosed with heart dysfunction, and are now experiencing severe shortness of breath, this requires immediate evaluation by a Cardiologist. A blood pressure of 80/60 mmHg is low, and your symptoms suggest that your heart condition needs to be reassessed without delay.
It is understandable that your doctor stopped some blood pressure-lowering medicines because of the low blood pressure. However, do not restart or stop any heart medication on your own unless advised by your treating Cardiologist. Your medicines may need to be adjusted based on your current condition, blood pressure, heart function, and overall health.
The severe breathlessness could be due to :
Worsening heart failure (reduced heart pumping function).
Fluid accumulation in the lungs because the heart is not pumping effectively.
An abnormal heart rhythm.
Progression of the underlying heart disease.
Another medical condition such as a lung infection or anemia.
Cardiologist recommend you :
A repeat 2D Echocardiogram to reassess your heart's pumping function.
ECG to check your heart rhythm.
Blood tests, including kidney function and electrolytes.
Chest X-ray to look for fluid in the lungs.
Other tests, if required, based on your condition.
Severe difficulty breathing, even while resting.
Chest pain or pressure.
Bluish lips or fingertips.
Fainting or confusion.
Swelling of the legs or abdomen that is increasing rapidly.
These symptoms can indicate worsening heart failure or another serious cardiac condition and should not be delayed.
