National Heart Institute, East of Kailash is India's first dedicated cardiac care institute, established in 1981 at 49-50, Community Centre, East of Kailash, New Delhi 110065. NABH and NABL accredited, NHI serves as the clinical research and medical care delivery wing of the All India Heart Foundation (AIHF) and is located near Kailash Colony Metro Station, serving patients across East of Kailash, Greater Kailash, Kailash Colony, Okhla, and South Delhi.

NHI is the research and referral tertiary-care heart hospital of AIHF, playing a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of heart ailments and allied diseases.

In addition to cardiac care, specialists across allied and ancillary departments are available round the clock for patients with non-cardiac conditions. National Heart Institute Journey

National Heart Institute was founded by Dr S Padmavati, the doyenne of cardiology in India, and inspired by the legendary physician Dr Paul Dudley White.

It was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi as the clinical research and medical care wing of the All India Heart Foundation in 1981 — the same year it became the first private sector cardiac catheterisation laboratory outside the developed world.

Over 44 years, NHI has grown from a standalone cardiac facility into a multispeciality tertiary care hospital, while retaining its founding mandate of accessible and affordable cardiac care. Dr O P Yadava serves as CEO and Chief Cardiac Surgeon of National Heart Institute.
