Hello,

Yes, your spouse is able to continue treatment for age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) under the PM-JAY Ayushman Card or the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card.

Anti-VEGF injections used to treat ARMD is covered in covered under PMJAY, but it depends on the branch of disha hospital not every branch is empanelled under ayushman scheme

Based on the information ,Disha Eye Hospital branches at Barrackpore and New Town are the branches to consider for Ayushman treatment.

For the Disha branches at Bardhaman and Durgapur, should not cover Ayushman facility. The Ayushman empanelment status can differ between branches and can change over time.

How to Check Ayushman empanelled hospital?

  1. Open the official PM-JAY hospital search portal.
  2. Select West Bengal as the state.
  3. Select the relevant district.
  4. First check the overall list of PM-JAY-empanelled hospitals in that district.
  5. Select “Private” under hospital type.
  6. Choose the relevant specialty, such as Ophthalmology or the available eye-treatment category.
  7. Enter the exact branch name, such as Disha Eye Hospital, Barrackpore or New Town.
  8. Complete the captcha, if shown.
  9. Click “Search”.
  10. Confirm that the specific branch has active empanelment. Then ask its Ayushman help desk whether the prescribed anti-VEGF injection is covered for both eyes and whether pre-authorisation is required.

Which Documents Should You Carry?

Document Why It Is Needed
PM-JAY Ayushman Card or Ayushman Vay Vandana Card To verify eligibility under the relevant scheme.
Aadhaar card or another accepted identity document For identity verification.
Previous eye-treatment records To show the treatment received since August 2024.
Prescription from Dr. Arnab Das To confirm the recommended anti-VEGF injection and treatment plan.
OCT scan and other eye reports To assess the current condition of both eyes.
Previous injection records and bills To confirm which injections were given and when.
Mobile number linked to the beneficiary details, if applicable To help with eligibility verification and scheme-related communication.

Do not stop or delay your spouse's eye injections without consulting the treating ophthalmologist, as untreated ARMD can lead to worsening vision. Confirm scheme approval before making payment, and ask the hospital for a clear explanation of any charges that are not covered.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
