Hello,

Aravind Eye Hospital is not accept your ABHA card for cashless treatment because an ABHA card and an Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card serve different purposes. Having an ABHA number does not automatically make you eligible for free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

What is the difference between an ABHA card and an Ayushman Bharat card?

  • ABHA card (Ayushman Bharat Health Account): It provides a 14-digit health account number to help you link and share medical records digitally. It is not health insurance and does not provide free treatment by itself.

  • Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card: It is used by eligible beneficiaries to access cashless treatment for approved packages at hospitals actively empanelled for the required treatment under PM-JAY.

In simple words, an ABHA card helps manage your health records, while an eligible PM-JAY card helps you access approved cashless hospital treatment.

How to Check Ayushman empanelled hospital?

  1. Open the official hospital search portal: PM-JAY Hospital Search.
  2. Select your state.
  3. Select your district.
  4. First check the overall list of empanelled hospitals in your district.
  5. Select Government or Private, if the option is available.
  6. Select the relevant speciality, such as Ophthalmology (eye care), if available.
  7. Search for the exact Aravind Eye Hospital branch name.
  8. Enter the captcha, if shown.
  9. Click Search and check whether the hospital's PM-JAY empanelment is active.
  10. Contact the hospital's Ayushman Mitra or scheme desk to confirm whether your specific eye treatment is covered and whether approval is required.

Which documents should you carry?

  • Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card, if available, or beneficiary details.
  • Aadhaar card or another valid identity document.
  • Eye doctor's prescription and examination reports.
  • Previous medical records and test reports.
  • Referral letter, if required.
  • ABHA card, if you have one, for linking or sharing health records.

Please share the city and state where the Aravind Eye Hospital branch is located, and tell us which eye treatment you need, such as cataract surgery or another procedure. We can guide you on checking the relevant Ayushman empanelment.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
