How much coverage does Ayushman Card provide in Delhi?

Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), eligible beneficiaries can receive health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for approved medical treatments and surgeries at PM-JAY empanelled hospitals.

The coverage amount remains the same across India wherever the PM-JAY scheme is implemented, and eligible beneficiaries can avail cashless treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals.

What Does the ₹5 Lakh Coverage Include?

The Ayushman Card generally covers

• Cashless hospitalisation.

• Approved surgeries and medical procedures.

• Doctor's consultation during hospital admission.

• ICU charges, if required.

• Medicines and medical consumables during hospitalisation.

• Diagnostic tests included in the approved treatment package.

• Operation theatre and anaesthesia charges.

• Pre-hospitalisation expenses (as per PM-JAY guidelines).

• Post-hospitalisation expenses (as per PM-JAY guidelines).

What Is Not Usually Covered?

Generally, the following are not covered:

• Routine OPD consultations.

• Health check-ups without hospital admission.

• Cosmetic or non-medically necessary procedures.

• Treatments not included in the approved PM-JAY package.

How to Use the Ayushman Card?

To avail cashless treatment

• Visit a PM-JAY empanelled hospital.

• Meet the Ayushman Mitra (Help Desk).

• Carry your Ayushman Card and Aadhaar Card.

• The hospital will verify your eligibility and obtain the required approval.

• Once approved, eligible treatment can be provided cashlessly.

How to Check Whether the Hospital Accepts Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY)?

Before taking treatment, verify whether the hospital is empanelled under PM-JAY.

• Visit the PM-JAY Hospital Finder.

• Select:

  • State

  • District

  • Hospital Name (or Specialty, if required).

• Confirm that the hospital is PM-JAY empanelled.
