Hello,

Back pain and body pain can happen due to muscle strain, poor posture, lack of rest, physical activity, or other health conditions.

For mild pain, you can try :

  • Take adequate rest and avoid heavy lifting.
  • Use a warm compress on the painful area for 15–20 minutes.
  • Do gentle stretching if it does not increase the pain.
  • Maintain good sitting and sleeping posture.
  • Drink enough water and get adequate sleep.
  • You may take a common pain reliever such as paracetamol if it is safe for you.

If the pain is severe, continues for several days, keeps coming back, or is associated with fever, weakness, or difficulty walking, consult a doctor promptly.

Seek emergency care immediately do not wait if back pain occurs together with any of the following :

  • New numbness in the groin, inner thighs, buttocks, or genital area ("saddle" numbness)
  • Difficulty starting urination, a feeling of not fully emptying your bladder, or new loss of bladder/bowel control
  • Rapidly worsening weakness in one or both legs, or difficulty walking that's getting worse

This specific combination can indicate a serious condition called cauda equina syndrome, where nerves at the base of the spine are compressed. This is a genuine surgical emergency  it isn't about how severe the pain feels, and treatment within 24–48 hours matters for preventing permanent nerve damage. Go directly to an emergency department rather than waiting for a routine appointment.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
