Description
Surgery of heart available in hospital. Under ECHS
Hello,
Yes. Heart surgeries, including cardiac surgery, can be availed under ECHS
Follow these steps
Visit the official ECHS website.
Open the “Empanelled Hospital Details” section.
Select the relevant state/region and location.
Search the exact hospital name.
Check whether the hospital's ECHS empanelment is currently active.
Confirm that cardiac/cardiothoracic surgery is available at that hospital.
Visit your ECHS Polyclinic for the required consultation and referral.
Keep these documents ready
Valid ECHS Smart Card
ECHS referral from the Polyclinic, where required
Aadhaar Card or other identity document
Cardiologist's prescription
ECG report
2D Echo report
Coronary angiography report and CD, if performed
Blood-test reports
Previous hospital records and discharge summaries
Current medication list
Any previous cardiac treatment records
If bypass surgery or another major cardiac procedure has been advised, carry the complete angiography and cardiologist's recommendation.
Do not delay emergency treatment because of referral formalities if the patient has severe chest pain, breathlessness, sweating, fainting, or other symptoms suggestive of a heart attack.
ECHS guidance provides specific options for emergency treatment, including reporting to the nearest service hospital or empanelled hospital.
We connect ECHS beneficiaries with suitable cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and partner hospitals and can assist with consultations, appointments, investigations, treatment coordination and hospital-related support.
If you share the city and the type of heart surgery advised (bypass, valve surgery, angioplasty, etc.), we can guide you on the specific ECHS checks you should complete before admission.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
