Description
I am Bpl ration holder I get free heart bypass surgery
Hello,
No, heart bypass surgery (CABG) is covered under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY for eligible beneficiaries. However, having a BPL ration card alone does not automatically guarantee free surgery. Your eligibility must be verified in the applicable government health-scheme database, and the surgery must be covered under an approved package at a PM-JAY-empanelled hospital.
Under PM-JAY, eligible families can receive cashless hospitalisation benefits up to the scheme's applicable annual family limit. CABG and other cardiac procedures are included in the PM-JAY health-benefit packages.
When CABG is approved under the applicable package, coverage can include eligible hospitalisation-related expenses such as
Surgery and operation-theatre charges
Surgeon and other medical-team charges
Hospitalisation
ICU care, where included in the package
Medicines and consumables used during covered hospitalisation
Required investigations related to the approved treatment
Follow-up benefits according to applicable scheme rules
The exact inclusions depend on the approved PM-JAY package and applicable state scheme rules. Therefore, confirm the package with the hospital's Ayushman desk before admission.
A BPL ration card does not by itself mean that CABG will automatically be free.
First, check whether your family is eligible for PM-JAY or another applicable state health scheme. If you already have an Ayushman Card, the hospital can verify your eligibility and process the treatment under the applicable package.
If you only have a BPL ration card and do not have an Ayushman Card, ask the nearest CSC or the relevant state health-scheme authority to check your eligibility.
You can
Check your eligibility through the official PM-JAY beneficiary system.
Visit a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
Visit an Ayushman/PM-JAY help desk at an empanelled hospital.
Provide your Aadhaar and ration-card details for verification.
If eligible, complete the Ayushman Card/e-card process.
Ask the hospital to verify whether CABG is covered under your applicable package.
After confirming eligibility
Open the official PM-JAY hospital search facility.
Select your State.
Select your District.
Search for hospitals with Cardiology/CTVS services.
Check that the hospital is currently PM-JAY empanelled.
Keep these documents ready

Aadhaar Card or other valid ID

If bypass surgery has already been advised, carry the cardiologist's written recommendation.
We connect patients with suitable doctors and partner hospitals and can assist with cardiology consultations, appointments, treatment coordination and hospital-related support.
If you share your city, state, whether you already have an Ayushman Card, and whether CABG has been advised after angiography, we can guide you on how to check the appropriate PM-JAY hospital and documents required.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
