ನಮ್ಮ ಮಗು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ದಿನವೇ ಉಸಿರಾಟದ ತೊಂದರೆಯಿಂದ ಒದ್ದಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಡಾ. ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ (Neonatal airway surgery) ಮಾಡಿ ಮಗುವಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಉಳಿಸಿದರು. ಒಂದೇ ದಿನದ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟಕರವಾದ ಆಪರೇಷನ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಇವರ ಕೈಚಳಕ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಅದ್ಭುತ. ಇವರಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಸದಾ ಋಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಗಂಟಲಿನ ಸೋಂಕಿನಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು. ಅಪೋಲೋ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರ ಕನ್ಸಲ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಫೀಸ್ ೧೨೦೦ ರೂಪಾಯಿ. ಹೆಕ್ಸಾಹೆಲ್ತ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಬುಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಯುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ ತುಂಬಾ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ,ಸೂಕ್ತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ನಮ್ಮ ೩ ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಕಿವಿ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಡಾ. ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಅವರು ಅಪೋಲೋ ಜಯನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಕ್ಲಿಯರ್ ಇಂಪ್ಲಾಂಟ್ ಸರ್ಜರಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಶಬ್ದಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇವರ ೨೫ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅಪಾರ ಅನುಭವ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಗನ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಜ್ವಲಗೊಳಿಸಿತು.
