What Treatment Is Available for Weakness and Throat or Intestinal Problems Requiring Endoscopy?

An endoscopy allows the doctor to look inside the digestive tract using a thin camera. Depending on the symptoms, the doctor recommend :

• Upper endoscopy: To check the throat, food pipe, stomach and upper part of the intestine for problems such as inflammation, ulcers, acid reflux, bleeding or blockage.

• Intestinal examination: If the problem is in the lower intestine, a colonoscopy or another suitable test may be recommended.

• Further treatment: If the endoscopy finds an ulcer, bleeding, growth, blockage or another condition, treatment will depend on the finding. Sometimes a small procedure can also be performed during endoscopy.
