Description
Pregnent women c section facilities and other facilities after baby is born
Hello,
Pregnant women can receive maternity care for both normal delivery and C-section, depending on the mother’s and baby’s medical condition. A C-section is recommended when the obstetrician determines that vaginal delivery may not be safe or suitable.
After delivery, care is important for both the mother and newborn. Regular postnatal monitoring helps identify complications early and supports recovery, breastfeeding and newborn health.
Depending on the hospital and the patient's medical needs, maternity care include
Antenatal check-ups and pregnancy monitoring
Consultation with an obstetrician and gynaecologist
Monitoring of the mother and baby's condition during labour
Normal vaginal delivery
C-section delivery when medically required
Anaesthesia and operation-theatre support for C-section
Post-operative monitoring and C-section wound care
Monitoring of blood pressure, temperature, bleeding and recovery
Pain management and medicines as advised
Breastfeeding and lactation support
Nutritional and hygiene counselling
Postnatal follow-up and recovery guidance
Family-planning and contraception counselling
WHO recommends monitoring the mother's vital signs, bleeding, uterine recovery, C-section wound and breastfeeding after delivery.
After the baby is born, newborn care include
Initial examination of the baby
Monitoring of temperature, breathing and heart rate
Assessment for birth injuries or congenital conditions
Early initiation and support for breastfeeding
Skin-to-skin contact where appropriate
Umbilical cord care
Monitoring for jaundice and infection
Monitoring the baby's feeding and weight
Newborn vaccinations as per the recommended schedule
Hearing and vision screening, where available
Special care or neonatal intensive care if the baby is premature, has low birth weight or requires additional medical support
WHO recommends early breastfeeding support, newborn assessment, cord care and vaccination according to the applicable schedule.
After delivery, the mother should immediately inform the doctor or visit a hospital if she develops heavy bleeding, high fever, severe abdominal pain, severe headache or vision problems, breathing difficulty, chest pain, or swelling and pain in one leg.
For the newborn, urgent medical evaluation is needed if the baby is not feeding properly, has difficulty breathing, fever, unusually low temperature, seizures, reduced movement or significant jaundice.
We can help you connect with experienced obstetricians and paediatricians at our partner hospitals, coordinate consultations and assist with hospital-related support for pregnancy, delivery and newborn care.
If you share your city and state, we can help identify suitable doctors and partner hospitals for maternity care and delivery.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
