About my wife pregnancy i am a army person can i get treatment on army painl
Dear Kuvar Singh ji,
Yes. If you are a serving Army personnel and your wife is an eligible dependent under the applicable defence medical scheme, she can receive eligible pregnancy and maternity care through the authorised Army medical system. For ECHS beneficiaries, the scheme provides medical treatment through service hospitals and ECHS-empanelled private hospitals, subject to eligibility, referral and hospital availability.
For pregnancy, you should first approach your authorised Army/Service medical facility or the relevant medical centre. If the required specialist treatment or delivery facility is not available there, the patient may be referred to an empanelled hospital according to the applicable process.
Depending on eligibility and the facility available, maternity care include
Pregnancy consultations and antenatal care
Required investigations and scans
Gynaecology consultation
Normal delivery
Caesarean delivery, when medically required
Treatment of pregnancy-related complications
Hospitalisation for delivery
Post-delivery care
Newborn care as per applicable entitlement and rules
Visit your authorised Army medical facility/ECHS Polyclinic.
Carry your service/medical entitlement documents and dependent details.
Get your wife's pregnancy evaluated by the doctor.
Obtain a referral if treatment or delivery is required at an empanelled hospital.
Choose a hospital that has valid ECHS empanelment and maternity services.
Before admission, confirm that the hospital's ECHS agreement is currently valid and that maternity services are available.
ECHS officially provides cashless and capless medical coverage for eligible beneficiaries at established polyclinics, military hospitals and empanelled hospitals, subject to the applicable rules.
Please do not assume that any private hospital accepting Army patients is automatically covered. The hospital should have valid empanelment, and the required maternity service should be available under the applicable ECHS process. The official ECHS website also provides details of empanelled hospitals and current policies.
We can help you identify suitable partner hospitals and experienced gynaecologists and assist with appointment and hospital coordination.
If you share your city and state and whether you are currently serving or retired, we can help you understand the appropriate Army/ECHS route for your wife's pregnancy treatment.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
