Description
Please explain Maternity operation limit for Caesarean (C-section) for twins of ayushman(CAPF) card
Medical Content and Care Team
Hello,
Yes, a Caesarean (C-section) delivery for twins is covered under the Ayushman CAPF scheme on a cashless basis, provided the patient is an eligible beneficiary and the treatment is approved under the applicable package at an empanelled hospital.
Under Ayushman CAPF, treatment arrangements depend on the type of hospital. Private hospitals empanelled under CGHS provide cashless treatment at applicable CGHS rates, while hospitals empanelled under AB PM-JAY follow the applicable PM-JAY package rules. The official CAPF FAQ explains these arrangements.
Depending on the approved package, the covered charges include the surgeon's and anaesthetist's fees, operation theatre charges, hospital stay, medicines, consumables and routine care related to the delivery. The hospital should explain what is included in the specific approved package.
If either baby is premature or needs special care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the newborn's treatment may need a separate package or approval. Similarly, additional treatment for the mother, such as prolonged ICU care or a blood transfusion, may require separate approval depending on the circumstances and scheme rules. Ask the hospital to explain how these expenses will be handled before admission, whenever possible.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
