Hello,
We understand your concern, especially when your father is already admitted and needs treatment for neurological and lung-related problems. If the hospital has told you that the treatment is not eligible under United India Insurance, first ask them for the exact reason for the cashless denial. A cashless request being denied does not always mean that the final insurance claim will also be rejected. United India Insurance's policy wording states that denial of pre-authorisation is not by itself a denial of treatment or coverage, and a reimbursement claim may still be possible depending on the policy terms.
Go to the hospital's Insurance or TPA Desk and ask for the reason for the denial in writing.
Ask them clearly:
Why was the cashless request rejected?
Is the problem related to the hospital's network status?
Is the treatment excluded under the policy?
Is there a waiting period or pre-existing disease issue?
Is any medical report or previous treatment history required?
Was pre-authorisation denied by United India Insurance or by the TPA?
Do not depend only on a verbal statement from the hospital. Ask for the written denial or pre-authorisation response.
If the cashless request remains rejected, ask United India Insurance or the TPA whether the expenses can be claimed through reimbursement under your particular policy.
United India Insurance policy documents state that, depending on the policy, a reimbursement claim can require documents such as the claim form, ID proof, doctor's advice, original itemised bills, payment receipts, discharge summary and diagnostic reports.
Keep all original documents safely, including:
Doctor's prescriptions
Admission papers
Discharge summary
Detailed hospital bills
Payment receipts
MRI, CT scan, X-ray and other investigation reports
Lung-related test reports
Neurology-related reports
Previous medical records
Medicines and treatment records
Insurance card
Policy documents
Cashless rejection/pre-authorisation letter
Any approval or communication from the TPA
Do not pay a large amount without first asking the insurance/TPA desk whether reimbursement can be considered and what documents they require.
The fact that your father is being treated for a neurological or lung problem does not by itself mean that the treatment is automatically excluded. Coverage depends on the specific United India Insurance policy, diagnosis, treatment, waiting periods, exclusions, hospital network status and the claim decision.
Also, do not delay medically necessary treatment while the insurance issue is being resolved. If your father's condition is serious or worsening, follow the treating doctor's advice and focus on his immediate medical care.
If you share the exact reason given by the hospital for rejecting the claim, the name of the TPA, and the name of the United India Insurance policy, We can help you understand what the rejection means and what step to take next.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
