Description
Fever problem of my mother her age is 86yrs, is Ayushman panel
Hello,
Yes, your 86-year-old mother is eligible for treatment under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card. Senior citizens aged 70 years and above are eligible for AB-PMJAY benefits, regardless of their income or economic status, subject to enrolment and scheme rules.
For fever, the doctor will first assess your mother and decide whether hospital admission is medically required. If inpatient treatment is needed and the required PM-JAY package is available at an empanelled hospital, the treatment is covered under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card.
Routine OPD consultation for fever alone is generally not covered under standard PM-JAY. It is therefore important to check with the hospital's Ayushman desk about the applicable package and coverage before admission.
Open the official PM-JAY/Ayushman Bharat hospital search.
Select the State.
Select the District.
Select Government or Private Hospital.
Select the relevant speciality, such as General Medicine.
Enter the exact hospital name, if you already have one in mind.
Enter the captcha, if shown.
Click Search.
Check whether the hospital is currently PM-JAY empanelled and whether the required speciality is available.
You can also check overall empanelled list of hospitals of your district
Keep these documents ready :
Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card/e-card
Aadhaar Card of your mother
Mobile number linked with Aadhaar, if available
Doctor's prescription/referral
Previous medical records
Blood test reports
Urine test reports
X-ray/ultrasound/CT reports, if done
Previous discharge summaries
List of current medicines
Any fever-related test reports, such as dengue, malaria, typhoid or other tests, if already done
For the 70+ senior-citizen AB-PMJAY enrolment, Aadhaar-based e-KYC is mandatory, and NHA states that Aadhaar is the only document required for enrolment.
At this age, fever should not be ignored, especially if it is persistent or associated with weakness. Please seek urgent medical care if she has difficulty breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness, very low blood pressure, severe weakness, chest pain, seizures, dehydration, very little urine, or a rapidly worsening condition.
If it is an emergency, do not delay hospitalization just to arrange the Ayushman documents. NHA has an emergency process for PM-JAY beneficiaries.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
