Hello,

Yes, treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), including treatment for a relapse, is covered under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme.

AML is a type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and causes the body to produce abnormal blood cells. A relapse means the cancer has returned after treatment. Depending on the patient's condition, treatment may include chemotherapy, medicines given in the hospital, blood transfusions, and other specialised care.

PM-JAY provides eligible beneficiaries with cashless hospital treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year under the scheme's rules. However, not every medicine, test, or cancer treatment is automatically covered.

Which documents are required for AML relapse treatment?

  • Ayushman Bharat Card or e-card.
  • Aadhaar Card or another accepted government identity document.
  • Ration card or other beneficiary documents, if required.
  • Haematologist's or oncologist's prescription and treatment plan.
  • Bone marrow biopsy report and other relevant pathology reports.
  • Blood test reports, including complete blood count, if available.
  • Previous chemotherapy records, discharge summaries, and details of earlier treatment.
  • Recent medical reports confirming the relapse, if available.

How to Check Ayushman empanelled hospital?

  1. Visit the official PM-JAY Empanelled Hospital List.
  2. Select the patient's state.
  3. Select the patient's district.
  4. Check the overall list of empanelled hospitals in the district.
  5. Select the government or private hospital category, as required.
  6. Select the relevant specialty, such as Medical Oncology or another available cancer-care specialty.
  7. Enter the hospital name if you have a particular hospital in mind.
  8. Enter the captcha and click Search.
  9. Check whether the hospital's PM-JAY empanelment is currently active.
  10. Contact the hospital's Ayushman Mitra or cancer department to confirm whether the required AML relapse treatment is covered under an approved package and whether cashless approval can be obtained.

We work with partner hospitals and doctors and can help connect you with a suitable hospital for AML relapse treatment.

Please share your city and state so we can help you explore suitable hospitals. The hospital's current PM-JAY empanelment, availability of the required cancer treatment, and package approval should be confirmed before treatment begins.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
