Hello,

You generally do not have to pay anything from your pocket for an eligible C-section delivery under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme. The treatment is cashless, so the government pays the approved treatment package cost directly to the empanelled hospital.

There is no personal balance from which money is deducted like a debit card. For an approved C-section package, the eligible treatment is generally provided without payment by the beneficiary.

What expenses be covered?

  • Hospital admission and room charges included in the approved package.
  • Doctor, gynaecologist and anaesthetist fees.
  • Operation theatre charges and necessary medical supplies.
  • Medicines, tests and other treatment included in the approved package.
  • Newborn care, where included under the applicable package and scheme rules.

How to Check Ayushman empanelled hospital?

  1. Open the official PM-JAY hospital search portal
  2. Select your state.
  3. Select your district.
  4. First check the overall list of empanelled hospitals in your district.
  5. Select Government or Private, if the option is available.
  6. Select the relevant speciality, if available.
  7. Search for the exact hospital name.
  8. Enter the captcha, if shown.
  9. Click Search and confirm that the hospital's PM-JAY empanelment is active.
  10. Visit the hospital's Ayushman Mitra desk to confirm C-section package availability, eligibility and any required pre-authorisation.

Which documents should you carry?

  • Ayushman Card or beneficiary details.
  • Aadhaar card or another valid identity document.
  • Pregnancy-related medical reports and ultrasound reports.
  • Doctor's prescription and any previous hospital records.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
