Hello,

It's important to consult a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis. If your mother has a slight fracture in the hip or groin area, the treatment will depend on the type and severity of the fracture.

In some cases, small or hairline fractures may heal with conservative treatment such as:

  1. Bed rest
  2. Limited weight-bearing
  3. Physical therapy

However, most hip fractures, especially in elderly individuals, may require surgery to heal properly and prevent complications like immobility or bedsores. Here’s a general approach:

  1. Consult an orthopaedic specialist for a proper assessment, as imaging (X-ray or MRI) may be needed.
  2. Follow the doctor's advice for treatment. Rest alone may not be sufficient in all cases.
  3. Recovery time will vary, but minor fractures typically take 6-8 weeks to heal, provided they are properly managed.
  4. Keep an eye on pain levels and mobility, and seek medical care immediately if the pain worsens or you have difficulty moving.

If you need help finding a specialist or have further questions, please contact us via 'Doctor Consultation' or 'Second Opinion' on our HexaHealth app. Our team of medical experts would guide you with most appropriate treatment.

Wishing your Mother the best of health.
