My mother have stones in gallbladder and she has ayushman card and under it laproscopy surgery comes under the ayushman card but i have been visiting so many hospitals who are under this scheme and they are denying the surgery and say punjab doesnt have this ayushman scheme working only on heart .please help

Gallbladder stone treatment via laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) is definitely covered under the Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) scheme. However, we understand your concern—Punjab currently has partial implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme under a state-modified version known as Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (SSBY).

Why Are Hospitals Denying Gallbladder Surgery?

• In Punjab, not all private hospitals are actively offering non-cardiac surgeries under Ayushman due to reimbursement or administrative constraints

• Some hospitals may only provide cardiac or emergency surgeries, which is why you're being told it works only for heart treatments

What You Can Do:

1. Look for hospitals under SSBY (Punjab’s version of Ayushman):

   • Visit: https://sha.punjab.gov.in/empaneled-hospitals/

   • Filter by district: Mohali and check for General Surgery availability

2. Alternatively, check under PMJAY national list:

   • Go to https://hospitals.pmjay.gov.in/Search/

   • Select Punjab → Mohali, and search with speciality as General Surgery

3. Visit the Ayushman Mitra desk at shortlisted hospitals and ask:

   • "Kya laparoscopic gallbladder surgery Ayushman card se available hai?"

   • If not, they may redirect you to a government hospital that performs it
