Is Pathology Test Before Surgery Covered Under Ayushman Bharat Scheme?

Yes. PM-JAY surgical packages are structured as all-inclusive bundled rates, which by NHA rule include the pathology and radiology tests needed before the procedure this means pre-surgery blood tests, urine tests, blood grouping, kidney/liver function tests, and imaging are generally built into the same package payment as the surgery itself, not billed as a separate item, when they're part of your approved treatment.

A standalone pathology test done outside of a package  for example, a routine OPD test unrelated to any approved surgery or hospitalization works differently and is generally not covered the same way.

A hospital cannot legally charge you extra for tests that are part of your approved package.

How to Check Ayushman Hospital?

1. Open the official PM-JAY Hospital Search portal.
2. Select your State.
3. Select your District.
4. Choose the Hospital Type Government or Private.
5. Select the relevant speciality, if available.
6. Search for the hospital by name, if you already know it.
7. Complete the Captcha.
8. Click Search.
9. Check the list of hospital is currently empanelled under PM-JAY.
