I got fever and heart burn from 5 days ,and chest pain also
Hello,
Having fever, heartburn and chest pain for the last 5 days needs medical evaluation. Heartburn can sometimes cause burning chest discomfort, but chest pain should not automatically be assumed to be due to acidity because heart-related conditions can also feel like indigestion or heartburn.
These symptoms occur due to
Acid reflux or gastritis
A stomach or digestive infection
Viral or bacterial infection causing fever
Chest infection or pneumonia, particularly if you also have cough or breathing difficulty
Less commonly, a heart-related problem
Fever generally indicates an underlying infection or another inflammatory condition, and fever that continues or worsens should be medically assessed.
A doctor check your temperature, blood pressure, oxygen level and heart rate and perform a physical examination. Depending on your symptoms, investigations such as an ECG, blood tests, chest X-ray or other tests be advised.
Treatment will depend on the actual cause. Do not start antibiotics or other prescription medicines without a doctor's evaluation.
Drink adequate fluids to prevent dehydration.
Take sufficient rest.
Avoid spicy, oily and very heavy meals if they worsen the heartburn.
Eat smaller meals and avoid lying down immediately after eating.
Avoid smoking and alcohol.
Take only medicines recommended by your doctor.
Keep a record of your temperature and other symptoms.
Because you have chest pain along with fever, please get medically assessed promptly. Go to an emergency department immediately if the chest pain is severe, persistent, feels like pressure/tightness, spreads to the arm, jaw, neck or back, or is accompanied by breathlessness, sweating, dizziness, fainting, nausea or vomiting. These can be warning signs of a serious heart problem.
We can help you connect with experienced physicians, gastroenterologists or cardiologists and suitable partner hospitals based on your symptoms. We can also assist with consultation, diagnostic tests, appointment scheduling and treatment coordination.
Please share your age, current temperature, exact location of the chest pain, whether you have cough or breathing difficulty, and whether the pain increases after eating or with physical activity. Based on these details, we can guide you toward the appropriate specialist and partner hospital.
