Dear RAJENDRA PRASADSINGHAL ji,

Yes, an 81-year-old patient is eligible to receive TAVR treatment under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme. The scheme covers eligible hospital treatments, including certain heart procedures, up to ₹5 lakh per eligible family per year. However, coverage for TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), a procedure in which doctors replace a narrowed aortic heart valve through a catheter, depends on the applicable treatment package, the hospital's empanelment and approval for the procedure.

How to Check Ayushman empanelled hospital?

  1. Open the official hospital search website: Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Hospital Search.
  2. Select the patient's state.
  3. Select the district where you want treatment.
  4. Check the overall list of Ayushman-empanelled hospitals in that district.
  5. Select the hospital type, such as Government or Private.
  6. Choose the relevant specialty, such as Cardiology or Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), depending on the options shown.
  7. Enter the hospital's name if you already have a hospital in mind.
  8. Enter the captcha and click Search.
  9. Check whether the hospital is currently empanelled under PM-JAY.
  10. Contact the hospital's Ayushman Mitra or PM-JAY desk and specifically ask whether TAVR is available under an approved package for the patient. Ask whether pre-authorisation is required and what amount, if any, the patient must pay.

Which documents should you carry?

  • Ayushman Bharat card or Ayushman Vay Vandana card, if applicable.
  • Aadhaar card or another accepted identity document.
  • Ration card or other beneficiary documents, if requested by the hospital.
  • Cardiology consultation notes and the cardiologist's recommendation for TAVR.
  • Echocardiogram (2D Echo) report and other heart investigation reports.
  • ECG, CT scan reports and angiography reports, if performed.
  • Previous hospital records, prescriptions and discharge summaries.
  • Existing health insurance policy details and any written information about the amount not covered, if available.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
