About Hospital

Spandan Hospital, Kolkata, began its journey on May 21, 1995, under the leadership of four visionary founders: Mr Pijus Kanti Pal, serving as Chairman and Managing Director, along with Directors Mr Parthasarathi Mandal, Mr Monaj Pati, and Mr Alok Kr. Ghosh. Starting from a modest 800 sq. ft. rented space in Rabindranagar, Paschim Medinipur, the hospital initially offered basic facilities such as portable sonography, analogue X-ray, routine pathology, and ECG.

Over the years, Spandan Hospital has achieved significant milestones, including introducing the district’s first CT scan unit in 2000 and adopting the PPP (Private-Public Partnership) model in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal at Bankura Sammilani Medical College & Hospital in 2002. Today, Spandan operates as a trusted healthcare provider, running a 101-bed hospital in Midnapore and a 150-bed multispecialty hospital in Teghoria, Kolkata.

Known for its pioneering contributions, Spandan was the first in the region to introduce advanced technologies like PET CT, 3T MRI, and true digital X-ray under the PPP model. Notably, in 2016, its PET CT scan in Guwahati was the only one of its kind in the northeastern region. Spandan collaborates with the Governments of West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, and Bihar to extend quality healthcare services.
