Dr Duru Shah is a senior Gynecologist, Fertility Specialist, and Reproductive Endocrinologist in Mumbai. With over 54 years of experience, she is currently associated as a Consultant at Breach Candy Hospital Trust, Mumbai and Gynaecworld Clinic, Malabar Hill.

She is also the Scientific Director of Gynaecworld and Gynaecworld Assisted Fertility Centre, South Mumbai.

She was also awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology London in 2008.

From 2001 onwards for over 10 years, she led the nationwide “Growing Up” Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health program under FOGSI. 

She has educated over 8 million adolescents across India with the support of nearly 1000 FOGSI members.

She also established the Kishori Program, a youth friendly centre in Dharavi, in collaboration with UNICEF and Sion Hospital, which empowered more than 20,000 underprivileged girls over 8 years.

She is a WHO accredited Master Trainer for Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health, and her advocacy contributed to ARSH being included in Indian school textbooks in 2007.

Dr Duru Shah was the first and only Indian to receive the prestigious FIGO Distinguished Merit Award for service towards women’s health at the World Congress in Rome in October 2012.

• Director of E Tutorials
• Web based learning program for postgraduate students

She conducts FOGSI recognised infertility courses, and her fertility centre is accredited by ISAR and ICOG for a six month Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine.

Dr Shah is a prolific academic contributor, having authored over 200 chapters and articles in national and international textbooks and journals.

She has edited and co edited more than 20 books in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and serves as a peer reviewer and editorial board member for reputed journals including TOG RCOG, Climacteric IMS, and Menopause International.

A sought after national and international speaker, Dr Shah has delivered numerous invited lectures globally on infertility, IVF, reproductive endocrinology, ART ethics, ovarian reserve, surrogacy, egg donation, and IVF complications.
