Dear Sagarika bhargob ji,

We understand your concern. When your mother has lower back pain along with feeling full after eating only a small amount, it is natural to worry. These symptoms can happen for many reasons, and the exact cause cannot be known without a proper medical check-up.

Lower back pain and feeling full after eating a small amount can have different causes. Sometimes it may happen because of gas, acidity, constipation, or muscle pain. It can also be related to kidney or urinary problems, stomach problems, gallbladder issues, or other abdominal conditions.

If your mother is regularly feeling full after eating only a small amount or is eating much less than usual, it is important not to ignore it.

What other symptoms should you watch for?

Please check whether she also has :

  • Abdominal pain or swelling

  • Gas, acidity, or constipation

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Burning or pain while passing urine

  • Frequent urination or blood in the urine

  • Fever or chills

  • Loss of appetite or weight loss

  • Unusual tiredness or weakness

These symptoms can help the doctor understand the possible cause.

What can you do at home for now?

Until she is examined by a doctor :

  • Give her small and frequent meals instead of large meals.

  • Give enough fluids unless her doctor has advised fluid restriction.

  • Avoid very oily, spicy, or heavy foods.

  • Keep track of her pain, food intake, bowel movements, and urine symptoms.

  • Do not give painkillers or other medicines on your own, especially if she has kidney or stomach problems.

  • Let her rest if the back pain increases with activity.

When should you take her to a doctor?

Please arrange a medical check-up soon, especially if these symptoms have continued for several days or are getting worse. A general physician can examine her and may suggest blood tests, urine tests, an ultrasound, or other tests depending on her symptoms.

Seek urgent medical care if she develops severe or sudden back or abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, high fever, blood in urine or stool, difficulty breathing, fainting, confusion, or severe weakness.

Please do not worry too much, but do not ignore these symptoms either. Getting her checked by a doctor can help identify the cause and start the right treatment at the right time.

Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
