Dear amit kumar patel ji
If your report shows low HDL and high LDL, VLDL/triglycerides and total cholesterol, it is important to work on the whole cholesterol profile rather than focusing only on HDL. High LDL can build up in the arteries and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
The most important steps are :
Reduce fried and oily foods.
Limit butter, ghee, cream, full-fat dairy and fatty meat.
Avoid processed meat such as sausages and similar packaged meats.
Reduce sweets, biscuits, cakes, sugary drinks and excess refined carbohydrates.
Eat more vegetables, fruits, oats, whole grains, beans, dal, chickpeas and other high-fibre foods.
Include nuts and seeds in small portions.
Choose fish or lean protein instead of fatty meat.
Use healthier unsaturated oils in small amounts.
Avoid smoking and tobacco.
There is no need to chase a higher HDL number with supplements or medicines on your own. Regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, eating a heart-healthy diet and avoiding tobacco can help support healthier HDL levels.
Try to gradually reach around 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week, such as brisk walking, if your health allows. Start slowly if you are currently inactive.
VLDL is closely related to triglycerides. High triglycerides can occur with excess weight, inactivity, alcohol, smoking and a diet high in refined carbohydrates or added sugars. Reducing sweets, sugary drinks, refined foods and excess calories can help.
If you drink alcohol, reducing or avoiding it can also help, particularly when triglycerides are high.
Sometimes diet and exercise are not enough. Depending on your LDL level and your age, blood pressure, diabetes status, smoking history and whether you have had heart disease or stroke, a doctor may recommend a cholesterol-lowering medicine such as a statin. Do not start or stop cholesterol medicine without medical advice.
Also, do not rely on cholesterol-lowering supplements or “natural” remedies without discussing them with your doctor.
Morning: Oats or another whole-grain breakfast + fruit.
Lunch: Roti/brown rice + dal + vegetables + salad + curd.
Evening: A small portion of nuts or fruit instead of biscuits or fried snacks.
Dinner: Vegetables + dal/beans or lean protein + a moderate portion of whole grains.
Activity: Regular walking or another suitable exercise.
Sleep: Aim for about 7–9 hours of good-quality sleep.
The exact treatment target cannot be decided from “high cholesterol” alone. If you share your actual LDL, HDL, triglycerides/VLDL, total cholesterol, age and whether you have diabetes, high BP or any previous heart problem, the results can be explained more specifically.
Wishing you and your family good health always.
Warm regards,
Team HexaHealth
