Dr. Shweta Bansal is a highly accomplished Paediatric Haemato-Oncologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist with over 28 years of clinical experience. She is currently working as Head at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Girgaon.

Before joining her current role, she was associated with SRCC Children’s Hospital and K J Somaiya Hospital and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, Sion

She was also an Ethics Committee Member at the National Institute of Immunohaematology (NIIH).

She served as Editor in Chief of the South Asian Journal of Cancer (2014–2016), Editor for the Newsletter of Marrow Donor Registry of India (2010–2011).

Apart from this, she is currently a National Advisory Board Member of the Indian Journal of Medical and Pediatric Oncology (2019–present).

Her notable research publication includes “Immunization of Children with Cancer in India Treated with Chemotherapy – Consensus Guideline from the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Chapter and the Advisory Committee on Vaccination and Immunization Practices of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.”

She has also received multiple Best Paper Awards at national and international conferences.

Dr. Bansal was nominated as Best Haematologist in the India Today Survey 2021 and featured among the Top Doctors in the Outlook Health Survey 2022.

She was felicitated by the Society of Oncology, Patna in 2010 for her contribution to Paediatric Oncology.

She has played a key role in establishing Bone Marrow Transplant Units in both public and private hospitals, and successfully performed India’s first immunologically advanced CD45RA depleted bone marrow transplant.

She is also among the first paediatric oncologists in India to introduce immunotherapy for paediatric cancers, including Anti GD2 therapy for neuroblastoma.
