Dr Bedi completed his MBBS in 1992 from the University of Bangalore, followed by:

• DM in Medical Oncology in 2002 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences
• Training in Oncology from AIIMS, New Delhi 
• Specialised Training in Hemato Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London
• Fellowship from the European Society for Medical Oncology

He is also the recipient of the Gold Medal and the Geeta Mittal Award for Best Cancer Researcher of the Year 2002 at AIIMS, New Delhi.

This prestigious honour was presented by the then President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.

He is an active member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
