With 47 years of experience, Dr Dilip Kumar Pahari is the Head of the Nephrology department, Senior Vice Chairman, Director, and Senior Consultant at Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata. He has also worked as a professor and HOD at IPGMER and SSKM Hospitals and as the HOD of the nephrology department at RN Tagore Hospital, Kolkata.

In 1977, Doctor Dilip obtained his MBBS degree from Bankura Sammilani Medical College, Kolkata. Then, he finished an MD in Internal Medicine from IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata, in 1982. Further, he completed a DM in Nephrology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and a DNB in Nephrology from the National Board of Examinations, Delhi, in 1988.

He received his fellowship in Interventional Nephrology and was recognised as a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology from Tufts-New England Medical Center, USA, in 2004. Later, in 2018, he was recognised as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians by the Royal College of Glasgow, UK

Doctor Dilip Kumar Pahari received the gold medal in Physiology Honors, the silver medal for highest marks in Physiology (Calcutta University) in 1972, and the silver medal for highest marks in Pharmacology from Calcutta University in 1973. In 2003, he was awarded by the International Society of Nephrology in Berlin for presenting a paper.
