Anand Halyal was the doctor who treated my mother in Sumeru Orthopaedic clinic. HE IS A VERY DANGEROUS DOCTOR - he never diagnosed properly and he was totally money minded and commercial. Instead of treating the patient properly, he is more focused on what all ways can he charge the patient - PLS NEVER GO TO HIM. Following are more details: My mother had a fall and she had little swelling on her right wrist/palm. He took an x-ray and said there is a fracture and also put a cast on her hand (before putting the cast, he asked us if we are OK if he puts the cast. We asked him to do whatever is the right thing to do. As a patient, we would just rely on whatever he says as a doctor). Though my mother told pain was tolerable, he insisted to take an injection. He also asked us to visit him again at different intervals i.e., after 4 days and after 3 weeks. He said he will again take x-rays during those subsequent visits to see if the fracture is healing properly. We felt this wasnt normal (why will any doctor take x-ray again and again once a cast is put!). However agreed to whatever he suggested. He also charged us around INR 7000/- for x-ray, consultation, cast, injection, etc. Later we didnt go to him for follow-up as we didnt feel comfortable or convinced. Instead we went to a different Orthopedic surgeon; he looked at the same x-ray which Anand had taken and couldnt find any fracture anywhere. He said bones and structure looked perfectly normal and no cast or anything was needed. There could be little swelling of the wrist region due to impact of fall and it would heal in few days.
