Dr. Viveka Kumar

Dr Viveka Kumar is an experienced Vice Chairman, specializing in Cardiology, with over 36 years of clinical practice. He currently serves at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, Delhi.

Over the years, Dr Kumar has built a strong reputation by working with top hospitals across India. His professional journey includes key roles at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket.

Dr Viveka is known for accurate diagnosis, deep medical knowledge, and a kind approach to patient care. He has conducted over 7,500 PTCA procedures and complex interventions, including techniques such as rotablation, left main stenting, and bifurcation stenting, among others. 

He has done more than 50 thousands cardiac interventions including complex PCI, Rota, IVL, LMCA Stenting & Multi-vessel PCI. He has done First Subcutaneous AICD and maximum number of AICD Implant in India.

Dr Viveka is also highly experienced in electrophysiological procedures, including RF ablation, cryoablation, cool tip ablation, implantation of ICDs, CRTs, and pacemakers, as well as device and lead extraction. Additionally, he performs coronary and peripheral angioplasties, renal and carotid angioplasties, radial artery angiograms, balloon valvotomy, and a range of other advanced cardiac procedures.

Dr Viveka completed his MBBS from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, in 1989, followed by a MD Internal Medicine from Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, in 1994.

He also completed his DM in Cardiology from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur in 1999 and Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology from the Southampton University Hospital, Southampton.

He is also an active member of the Cardiology Society of India (CSI), the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Delhi Medical Council (DMC). He is active in research and regularly presents at medical conferences and workshops.
