Bheemsingh, Mandal -Pitlam Thyroidectomy surgery was performed successfully, and I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the doctors Dr.Manoj and Dr.Rakesh Sir and hospital staff. The medical team handled the surgery well and provided good care throughout the treatment. I would like to especially acknowledge Ms. Vishali (Insurance Section) for her immediate response and timely processing of the insurance claim. I also appreciate Mr. Fayaaz (Hospital Management) for his prompt support and for clearly explaining the procedures during the surgery period. Overall, the coordination and communication from the staff were good. However, I am disappointed during the billing process, particularly regarding the high cost of tests and procedures, which are significantly higher compared to other hospitals. The following charges felt excessive: Endoscopy bedside procedure – ₹4,800, which appeared to be a very simple procedure. Large biopsy cost – ₹2,400 (whereas ₹2,000 would be reasonable). FNAC Cytology test – ₹1,450. Several unnecessary medical tests were conducted, which were not essential for the surgery. The total test charges alone came to ₹16,800, and many of these tests were not covered under insurance. The total surgery bill at Medicover Hospital was ₹86,800, whereas, based on my enquiry with other hospitals, the same surgery along with required tests would cost around ₹50,000. While I am satisfied with the doctors and staff behavior, the high and unexpected billing has caused disappointment at the final stage. I request the hospital management to kindly review and rationalize the test charges to ensure transparency and affordability for patients. Regards N.Surendar
