Earlier Career

Dr Bahadur's career spans a unique range of healthcare settings. After his MD, he worked as a physician at a Tribal Health Unit in Harrai and Saunser in Madhya Pradesh. He then served as Internist and Intensivist (Divisional Medical Officer) with Indian Railway hospitals at Mumbai, Nagpur, and Bina from 1986 to 1991.

From 1992, he headed the Department of Nephrology at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, a tertiary referral facility for Central Railway in Mumbai, where he also managed an urban diabetic clinic with 1,300 registered patients and developed innovative clinical software for a computerized registry for renal and diabetic patients.

He completed his DNB Nephrology training at Jaslok Hospital from 1997 to 1999 and has headed the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at Jaslok since March 2003.
