Dr Alka Mandke is a seasoned Anaesthesiologist and Critical Care Medicine Specialist in Mumbai. She is currently associated as a Head with Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital And Medical Research Institute, Andheri West.

With 49 years of experience, she has worked at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, and P.D. Hinduja National Hospital.

She has also led 10 national and international workshops in locations like Muscat, Syria and Darussalam.

Doctor Alka has been widely contributed to healthcare, social welfare, and the legacy of her late husband, Dr. Nitu Mandke.

She was felicitated by Dainik Sakal on 20 September 2003 for her continued social work. Her commitment to completing the hospital envisioned by the Mandke Foundation, marking the 106th birth anniversary of Late Shri Nanasaheb Parulekar.

Since 2004, she has organised large-scale social programmes every year on both his birth anniversary at Bharat Natya Mandir in Pune and his death anniversary.

In honour of his contributions, the Indian Medical Association branches in Pune and Indapur were renamed as Dr. Nitu Mandke IMA in 2017.

• 2 memorial lectures at IMA Pune

Her book Hridayasth (2004), written as a tribute to her husband, grew so popular that it was later translated into English, Hindi, and Gujarati.

Deeply committed to social causes, she actively:

• Supports nearly 50 NGOs
• Serves on the advisory board of the NGO Federation formed in Pune in 2018
• Personally visits organisations to guide and assist their initiatives
