Dr V Laxman Babu is a senior Pulmonologist and Interventional Pulmonology Specialist with 21 years of clinical experience. He is currently associated as a Consultant at:

• Dr Laxmans Asthma and Chest Clinic, Uppal

Previously, he has been associated with Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital, Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences, Yashoda Hospital, Oxygen Hospital and Akshaya Chest Clinic.

He has performed more than 1000 bronchoscopies, over 100 linear EBUS procedures, and more than 100 diagnostic and therapeutic medical thoracoscopies, including cryo pleural biopsy and talc pleurodesis.

In the field of sleep medicine, he has interpreted over 300 Level 1 sleep studies and successfully established a comprehensive sleep clinic at Sunshine Hospital.

• Certificate in Sleep Medicine from the International Institute of Sleep Science

• Medical Thoracoscopy, EBUS, and Rigid Bronchoscopy units at Sunshine Hospital

Dr Laxman Babu has actively contributed to academic research and national conferences. His notable publications and presentations includes:

• Poster presentation at NAPCON 2015 titled Glue Embolisation of Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm Presenting with Massive Hemoptysis
• Oral paper presentation at NAPCON 2016 titled Clinical Performance of 6mm Mini Rigid Thoracoscope in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medical Thoracoscopy

His original research has also been published in Lung India Journal (2019) and the International Journal of Research and Review (2020).

He is an active member of:

• Indian Sleep Disorders Association (ISDA)

Dr Laxman Babu has been honoured with the Best Paper Award at NAPCON 2016 in Interventional Pulmonology.
