Dr. D S Gambhir

Dr Daljeet Singh Gambhir (Prof D S Gambhir) is a Padma Shri Awardee and one of India’s most respected pioneers in interventional cardiology, currently serving as Group Director of Cardiology at Kailash Group of Hospitals, Noida, with over four decades of clinical experience.

He is widely recognised for having performed more than 20,000 coronary interventions, with expertise in complex and multivessel angioplasty, unprotected left main coronary stenting, rotablation, atherectomy, and high-risk coronary procedures using percutaneous support devices.

He is the first Indian cardiologist to develop a drug-eluting stent, the Infinnium Paclitaxel-Eluting Stent, presented at the EuroPCR meeting in Paris in 2003, an achievement that brought international recognition to India in interventional cardiac innovation.
