He has performed several nation first and world first cardiac surgeries and is known for treating high risk and complex cardiac and vascular conditions with high success rates.

He holds the distinction of becoming the first surgeon in the world to perform an Awake Cardiac Surgery, a unique heart surgery where the patient remains fully conscious and the heartbeat is stopped for hours without the use of a ventilator, on a patient with the rare Bombay blood group, which has been identified in only about 179 people worldwide.

He introduced an atypical and complex cardiac procedure to the world, which was performed on a patient suffering from both rheumatic and congenital heart disease. He also holds a rare record of operating on both husband and wife on the same day in a high risk cardiac condition.

He has played a key role in founding two well known Cardiac Surgical Departments in Bangalore and has worked closely with globally renowned cardiac surgeons. 

He has also gained experience working in two JCI accredited hospitals.

He is also an active member of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS).
